Virginia State Advocacy Day 2013-VAX
January 28 is Virginia State Action Day
On January 28, 2013, let's raise our voices. We must work together to break down barriers to care, improve access to quality health services, and make MS therapies more affordable. We must fight for disability rights, MS research funding, and long-term care resources. Whether you only have a few minutes or want to make a commitment, you can be an MS activist.
I only have a few minutes....
I have some spare time....
Share your MS story on your personal blog
Send an email to your state legislator
Call your state Senator or Delegate to talk about an issue you are passionate about
Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper telling your story and asking for change on one issue ( http://nmss.capwiz.com/nmss/dbq/media)
Call a talk radio show and ask for change on one issue
I can make a commitment....
Email AdvocacyVA@nmss.org for any of the following opportunities:
Become an advocacy volunteer
Visit your state or federal legislators in their local office
Become a spokesperson and share your personal story with others
Help us recruit more MS activists at the next Bike MS or Walk MS event
Visit a self-help group or other program to talk about the power of advocacy
Become a subject matter expert and serve on a local task force
Will you raise your voice?
Take a moment and pledge that you will be a MS activist.
"The more voices we have, the louder our message, and the more likely it will be heard."
