“The Research Update” with Dr. Monique Canonico & "Balance Exercises and Fall Prevention With MS" Jaime Kuamo'o, PT, OCS from OrthoSport

Dr. Canonico HIHPlease us as we explore MS research findings in the past 24 months with Dr. Monique Canonico. Dr. Canonico DO graduated from the Kansas City College of Medicine and Biosciences and was an active duty neurologist in the United States Army before coming to Kaiser Permanente. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Hawaii John A Burns School of Medicine, with a special interest in MS.

After a short break, we will hear from Jaime Kuamo'o, PT, OCS from OrthoSport

 Jamie PT HNL HIHJaime has been a practicing physical therapist since 2005. She is an outrigger canoe paddler, Pilate’s practitioner, and new mother of one. Her husband is also a PT locally, and is originally from Oahu. When she can scrape up some free time, she also enjoys longboard surfing, swimming, and running. Jaimie's experience and practice focus is in the areas of: Orthopedics (spine, neck, upper extremity, and lower extremity), Manual Therapy (joint manipulation and soft tissue mobilization), Sports conditioning, rehabilitation, and injury prevention, Aquatic exercise and rehabilitation, and Pilates rehabilitation and fitness training. She has earned a Bachelor's Degree from University of Hawaii at Manoa (2002) and a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University (2005). She is a certified OCS- Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (2010). Her post graduate training includes: Paris, tissue specific manual orthopedic assessment and treatment approach, Donatelli Sports Specific Rehab for the Shoulder, Kevin Wilk: Recent Advances in the Evaluation & Treatment of the Knee and Shoulder, Advanced mentoring in orthopedic manual physical therapy, Turning Point Studios Pilates Instructor Training, Mulligan, mobilization with movement approach, Maitland MT2 spinal manipulation, and APTA Clinical Instructor Education and Credentialing Program .

The Program will begin at 9:30 am and end at 11:30 am. Complimentary breakfast will be served. You may bring one guest. Please RSVP by May 21, 2013 at 5:00 pm. Seating is limited.
