Family Matters: Support for Parents with MS and their Children
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
MS affects the entire family, and is not always an easy subject to discuss. For many children & teens, sharing with peers who understand what it is like to experience MS within the family, can make a big difference.
We are pleased to offer this support program for children who have a parent or other significant adult in their life with MS. This program is open to children and teens between 12-18 years old. Children or teen must be accompanied by at least one adult or guardian.
Parents and significant adults will have the opportunity to attend a support group while their children meet, share, and learn with their peers. The adult support group is open to people diagnosed with MS, their family, friends and carepartners.
Dr. Sarah Stearns, a Psychologist at DHMC, will be providing information and facilitating discussion with each group.
