Landmark Study Estimates Nearly 1 Million in the U.S. Have Multiple Sclerosis |

A new study funded by the National MS Society has confirmed that nearly one million people are living with MS in the United States, more than twice the original estimate from a previous study. This breakthrough is a pivotal moment in the MS movement as a scientifically sound measure of prevalence helps us better understand the disease and its impact. With twice as many people living with MS, solutions for MS are now twice as important. Learn more.

Siponimod (Mayzent®) Approved for MS |
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved oral siponimod (brand named Mayzent,®Novartis International AG) for the treatment of adults with clinically isolated syndrome and relapsing forms of MS, including those with active secondary progressive MS. Read more in the Society News. |
Cladribine (Mavenclad®) Approved for MS |
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved oral cladribine (brand named Mavenclad,®EMD Serono) for the treatment of adults with relapsing forms of MS, including those with active secondary progressive MS. Read more in the Society News. |
Society partners with the Veterans Administration |
The National MS Society signed a four-year memorandum of agreement with the Veterans Administration that will improve care and outcomes for an estimated 70,000 veterans living with MS. Veterans can continue to receive MS care through the VA and take advantage of the many other opportunities for support, education, and connection through the National MS Society.
