Estriol may offer protection

Sex hormone will be evaluated in 12-month study

MS relapses are decreased by 80% during late pregnancy, which may be due to estriol, the major estrogen of pregnancy. In an earlier, Society-funded study, Dr. Voskuhl’s team showed that estriol decreased MS activity in 12 women living with the disease.
