Teresa is an MS Ambassador living with her husband Pat in Tacoma, Washington. After being diagnosed with MS on October 13, 2000, and following an extended medical leave Teresa retired April 1, 2003 from her 24 year career with the City of Tacoma, Washington. As soon as it was suggested that MS was a possibility in her life she became connected with the National MS Society.
Following her diagnosis, Teresa has been working to fight MS and trying to find ways to pay back the National MS Society for its knowledge, support, assistance, and friendship. Locally Teresa is a key volunteer with the Greater Washington Chapter where she is an MS Ambassador, Self-Help Group Leader; member of the Government Relations Committee; event volunteer/committee member; weekly chapter volunteer; and captain of Team OptiMStic.
Nationally she is a member of the National Programs Advisory Council, serves on various committees and task forces for the Client Programs Department, and has also been a presenter at the National Conference since 2003. In her spare time Teresa likes to travel with her husband, read, and watch movies.
