Fundraising for the National MS Society

$21 million and counting: this is a big deal

MuckFest® MS runners and volunteers just surpassed $21 million in donations to support the life-changing work of the National MS Society. We won’t stop until we stop MS. Join us in the mud and make a difference in the life of someone living with MS.

Collectively, MuckFest MS and other fundraising efforts have helped accelerate research breakthroughs that change lives and will end MS forever.

There are more therapies specifically approved for treating and managing MS. And there are more potential MS therapies in development today than at any other time in history.

MS is more quickly diagnosed, enabling early and sustained therapy to slow disease activity.

There is much greater awareness of the many symptoms of MS and ways to address them to improve quality of life.

Scientists are making breakthroughs in identifying risk factors that can increase a person’s susceptibility to MS, which will help lead to ways to prevent the disease.

In addition, the National MS Society ensures each person with MS can live their best life with more connections to information, resources and others with shared experiences, and the voices of people with MS are heard and drive change wherever it is needed.

I MUCK IT WITH MS bandana

I MUCK IT WITH MS is a special National MS Society program that celebrates participants who are also living with multiple sclerosis. MuckFest MS participants with MS can wear the blue I MUCK IT WITH MS bandanas on the event. The bandanas will be given to participants who selected "I have MS" in response to the registration question, "What is your connection to MS?"

Bandanas are mailed to participants two weeks before each event, but they will also be available to participants at the National MS Society tent in the MuckFestival area of the event site.

The “MS” part of MuckFest MS stands for multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system, that interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.

Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million worldwide. This is the reason we come together—to rally friends in support of people living with MS in our community.

That’s why 100% of funds raised by you benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Join MuckFest MS and have a blast while being a part of something that matters.
