For the last several years, each Boston event has been more mucking awesome than the last, but Saturday and Sunday were just about as mucking perfect as they could be.
Let's start with the weather. Turns out Mother Nature is really Mucker Nature, amirite? We could not have asked for better weather.
To go with those sunny skies, we had radiant smiles, good vibrations, and a kaleidoscopic collection of teams, team shirts and get-ups. Big props on your inspiring and thoroughly muck-tacular team spirit. And a special shout-out to team Drew Crew and their captain, Cara Drew, an MS fighter: when your team crossed the finish line to close out the day on Sunday, it was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we pull together to defeat MS. Thanks to all the fundraising muckers and volunteers, including all the top fundraising individuals and teams listed below.
Things got sloppy from the start (which is a good thing). Mud Master Al was in rare form and you muckers were more than willing to oblige his mucky tendencies in a particularly muddy Muckin' Corral.
Out on the course, you crushed it in the most slapsticky kind of way, which is the best way, in our not-so-humble opinion. Congratulations also on some epic flippy-floppy on our new obstacle, Slippy Sloppy; all judges rated your water entry a perfect 10.
That mud-thusiasm carried over to the finish line, where we saw quite a few good-natured mud fights and a little dirty dancing—remember: Nobody puts MUCKY in a corner.
A big THANK YOU to our committed crew of volunteers who, once again, made this event really shine. Thanks especially to volunteers who came both days and for muckers who also took the time to volunteer. All of your hard work was sincerely appreciated.
Thanks again to the Willard Athletic Complex for being a great event site host and for allowing us to get mucky in your backyard.
Thank you for coming out and making the inaugural MuckFest MS Charlotte so memorable. We would like to thank all the runners, volunteers, spectators and staff who participated and supported each other this weekend. It is that spirit of support that inspires us to work hard every day of the year to support people living with multiple sclerosis.
There is still time to support the mission behind the “muck.” We've made incredible progress so far and we want to keep that momentum going after the event. Make a donation online.
