NOW THAT WAS SOMETHING SPECIAL!
Sometimes all the ingredients come together to make something truly special, and that's exactly what happened this past weekend at MuckFest MS Denver.
Gorgeous weather. Even more gorgeous muckers, volunteers and guests. Great mud. Awesome obstacles. Not only was this the largest MuckFest MS Denver ever with almost 3,200 muckers and 150 volunteers, but it was also the most outstanding example of what this event is all about.
You turned the Team Spirit knob up to 11, then you broke the Muck-Fun Meter when you conquered the course, which featured the largest Triple Pits in MuckFest MS history. This was cooperative mud-thusiasm on a whole new level. Helping (muddy) hands, celebratory (and muddy) hugs, arm-in-arm triumph at the finish line—so very dirty and uplifting at the same time!
Speaking of teams, big shout-out and huge thanks to all the Top Teams at this year's event, and especially to Michael Pierce's Muckin' for Michael's Mom (M4MM), which was not only the largest team with an amazing 99 team members, but also the Top Fundraising team with over $21,000 raised at the time of the event, and over half of that raised by Michael himself!
Thank you to MAD Greens for your mad culinary skills and for providing the best wraps and pasta salads ever. Seriously, you guys rock.
We all seemed to dig the new site in Parker, CO, especially the spectators who got a front row seat for all the mucky shenanigans. Big props to the good folks at Salisbury North for being such a great event site host.
And last, but certainly not least, sincere thanks to everyone for leaving the site so tidy and for donating so many of your shoes after the run. We appreciate it.
Thank you for coming out and making the 2016 MuckFest MS Denver such a great success. We would like to thank all the runners, volunteers and staff who came out to run, help and support each other this weekend. Every day of the year, we work hard to support people living with multiple sclerosis.
There is still time to support the mission behind the “muck”. We've made incredible progress so far and we want to keep that momentum going after the event. Make a donation online or call us.
“Excellent event. That was the most fun I have had at an event in a long time.”—Chad N., Denver Mucker
