If you needed a definition of the term 'picture-perfect,' then Saturday's MuckFest® MS So Cal was it: Goldilocks weather (not too hot, not too cool, but just right), a gorgeous backdrop at Prado Regional Park, and thousands of equally gorgeous muckers, volunteers and spectators who made the day special and muck-tacular.
So Cal ended the MuckFest MS season on a high note—probably a high F considering the pitch-perfect squeals of delight coming from the obstacles.
Spectators got not only an earful, but an eyeful from the MuckFestival, refreshed by Traveler Beer, which featured excellent views of Flying Muckers and Slippy Sloppy. Up above, the AbbVie Spinner offered muckers a bird's-eye view of the event site while they were hanging around, or not (those ring holds can get slippery).
Out on the lake, you conquered the Walk on Water obstacle, which was fittingly the longest and best version of that obstacle in the 2017 season.
Thanks to everyone who donated and fundraised on behalf of the National MS Society, including the awesome top fundraising individuals and teams listed below. Special thanks and hats off to top fundraising team The Revolutionists, and their top fundraising captain, David Cooley, for raising over $39,000 in donations—your time and effort are truly appreciated and exemplary.
We salute and thank all the veterans and active military members who came out to run and to volunteer. A special shout out to Veteran and Mucker Extraordinaire, Tra C., who said it best: “Blessed to have fellow veterans and members of their families muck it up with me at MuckFest MS on Veterans Day.”
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make it muck-magical, especially the 50+ volunteer students from Sierra Vista Junior High in Baldwin Park. Your cheering and encouragement out on the course brightened the day for everyone!
Thanks to everyone who traveled from all corners of California and neighboring states to be there on Saturday.
To Prado Regional Park, thank you for being a great event partner again this year.
Thank you for coming out and making MuckFest MS So Cal so memorable. We would like to thank all the runners, volunteers, spectators and staff who participated and supported each other this weekend. It is that spirit of support that inspires us to work hard every day of the year to support people living with multiple sclerosis.
There is still time to support the mission behind the “muck.” We've made incredible progress so far and we want to keep that momentum going after the event. Make a donation online.
