Day of Information

Arrival Time: 
Please arrive at least an hour before your scheduled wave time to get checked-in, pick-up your packet, etc. But, if you aren’t running until later in the day you can still show up early and hang out!
PLEASE NOTE WAVE TIME CHANGE: ALL COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS WILL RUN AT 12 NOON! 

Check-In Process: 
Pre-registered Runners
All runners MUST turn in the $100 fundraising minimum to be eligible to participate in this event. We will NOT transfer funds between participants to cover fundraising minimums. We will have a report of all donations turned in online at check-in. Please bring any checks, cash, and/or matching gift forms you have collected to turn in at check-in. You will receive your timing chip when you check-in. No runners will be allowed on the course without a timing chip.

Walk-On Runners
We will allow runners to register the morning of the event. If you are "walking on," please arrive at 10am to register as you will be running in the 11am wave. All earlier waves are full at this time. The registration fee of $75 and the $100 fundraising minimum (not including the registration fee) must be met before a participant will be allowed to "walk-on". We will NOT transfer funds between participants to cover fundraising minimums. You will receive your timing chip when you register. No runners will be allowed on the course without a timing chip.

Division Clothing Requirements: 
If you are in the Crazed Competitor division, please be sure you’ve read the requirements located on the divisions page of our website – long pants and boots are required! For the Mere Mortals, we suggest workout clothes (t-shirts, tank tops, shorts, running leggings, etc) and moisture wicking socks if possible!

Parking: 
Parking is available ON-SITE very close to the festival area. 

Key/Bag Check: 
Participants are encouraged to leave all personal belongings locked in their vehicle while running. However, we will have key/bag check available so runners can drop off their car keys and/or any other small belongings before running.  The National MS Society is not responsible for lost or stolen property. 

What to Bring:
Please bring: a change of clothes and shoes, towels (there will be a shower truck for you to rinse off), trash bags to put your mucky clothes in, sunscreen, tailgating gear, and cash!

Team Tent: 
Teams are welcome to bring team tents to tailgate before and after running. If you would like a team space reserved at the festival area please email Ashley Gaines at ashley.gaines@nmss.org ASAP!

Food & Beverage: 
All runners will receive a free lunch from Backyard Bistro and two free beers provided by Carolina Brewing Company. Spectators are welcome to purchase food from the Baguettaboutit Food Truck. They will be on-site selling their delicious European inspired sausage-baguette sandwiches (SO GOOD!). We’re also happy to have Safari Ice selling shaved ice as a cool treat!

Kid's Zone:
The Little Muckers kid's zone consisting of kid friendly muddy obstacles will be available for the little ones in the festival area. A parent or legal guardian MUST sign a waiver for each participating child and MUST be present to watch their child(ren) at all times.   

Music: 
Skinny Bag of Sugar will be performing live. They cover everything from the hip and happenin’ tunes to the oldies but goodies! They’ll be rockin’ out all day! 

Team Awards:
Don’t forget we’ll be handing out the following team awards:

  • Muckier By the Dozen Award – goes to the largest team!
  • MUCK YEAH! Award – goes to the team that has had the most enthusiasm leading up to the event!
  • Not Muckin’ Around Award – goes to the top 5 highest fundraising teams!
  • Rigged for Ruckus Award – goes to the team tent in the Mud Pit with the best décor and flare! 
  • Dirtiest Digs Award – goes to the team with the funkiest/most creative outfits or team uniforms!
