Enthusiastic, committed volunteers are an essential component to MuckRuckus MS Northeast! The MuckRuckus MS Staff needs hundreds of volunteers to ensure that every aspect of the event is a success. Thank you for your support and making a positive difference in the lives of those living with MS!

Assist with volunteer check-in and direct volunteers to their assigned locations. Register “walk-in” volunteers and assign them as needed. Support other volunteer areas when possible.
Positioned at the entrance to the Festival Area, as well as, the Parking Lot, volunteers will greet Muck Ruckus participants as they arrive to the event site, providing all information and directing participants to the Registration Check-In/Packet Pick-Up Tent.
Support participants with registration, check-in and pick-up of Muck Ruckus materials and participation t-shirt. Volunteers will answer general event questions and release participants into event site. At end of event, assist with tent breakdown.
Provide participants with a secured area where they can check personal items such as keys or any other small items during their event wave. At end of event, assist with tent breakdown.
Greet and assist with check-in of top fundraisers. Support programming in tent from start to finish including: food service, clean-up, recycling, maintaining a clean and well-stocked tent and break down. At end of event, assist with tent breakdown.
Assist with management of the Kids obstacle area. Tasks include: Kids’ obstacle support, overseeing and interacting with children in activity area, maintaining a well-kept, clean, safe and fun environment. At end of event, assist with area breakdown.
Staff hydration and packaged snack station in the Festival area, as well as, assist vendors in keeping the food and beverage area clean and neat. At end of event, assist with site breakdown.

Green Team (Recycling/Trash): 8:00am
Support the events sustainability efforts by leading the recycling and trash program at the Festivals site. Help Muck Ruckus participants and spectators select proper disposal for recyclables and maintain a tidy site. At end of event, assist with site breakdown.
Start Line: 6:00am
Assist the event staff with creating smooth obstacle course starts for participants at the start line. Tasks include helping with queuing of participants, timing chips and all other related activities.
Course Monitors (Stationary): 7:00am
Located at stationary locations along the course, Course Monitors ensure participants remain on the course and stay safe. They will also interact with participants serving as a host to that obstacle in a friendly and humorous manner.
Course Monitors (Mobile): 7:00am
Working in a mobile fashion, these monitors will move along the course on mountain bikes ensuring that participants stay safe. They will also interact with participants in a friendly and humorous manner.
Hydration Stations: 7:30am
Help in filling cups with water and distributing them to participants on the course. Clean up during and after participants pass your station
Finish Line: 8:30am
Assist event staff with a smooth finish to the course. Tasks include: congratulating participants for finishing the course, directing them to the hose down area and other related activities.
Participant Hose Down Area: 8:30am
Located at the participant hose down area, assist participants with hosing mud off them in a timely manner, as well as, ensuring that this area is kept clean and accessible to all.
*Note: MuckRuckus volunteers must be able to stand for long periods of time in most positions and tolerate August heat.
