Team Captains

Team captains serve as “inspirational leaders” for their team members. People raise more money together than they do alone. Forming a team is a great way to build teamwork while demonstrating your community involvement. It's as easy as 1-2-3-4! The 2014 Team Captain Guide will be posted soon!

1. Organize four or more people from your workplace, school, religious organization or other group.
2. Choose a team captain and a team name and set a fundraising goal.
3. Register your team online.
4. Start collecting contributions to fight MS and to win great prizes.

Make FUNdraising…FUN!

Teams have the opportunity to throw fundraising BBQ’s, garage sales, car washes and parties! Join together to host team fundraising events and split the earnings among the entire team!

Fundraising comes naturally when you make it personal. Is your team walking for someone with MS? Ask them if they would be willing to tell their story. Putting a face with a story helps participants connect better with the cause. Be sure to follow the story with a statement about how much progress we’ve made in treating the disease and how fundraising is key to that success, we honestly couldn’t do it with out you!

Don’t forget to ask everyone who sponsors you if their employer offers matching gifts!

Team Recognition & Awards

Teams are eligible to win prizes and awards based on fundraising, recruitment and creativity. Some awards include: Largest Team, Highest Pledge Average, Most Money Raised, and Rookie of the Year. Also, look at our Walker Week Page for unique weeks dedicated to motivating our Teams and helping them succeed. Show your team pride by designing a team t-shirt for Walk MS.
