Research ImageAlemtuzumab shown to reduce relapse rates

Results of two large phase III clinical trials showed alemtuzumab (Genzyme, a Sanofi company), taken intravenously once a year for two years, significantly reduced relapse rates over interferon beta-1a treatment. One of the studies also suggested that alemtuzumab may significantly reduce worsening of disability. What’s the next step for alemtuzumab?
