First year progress report on initial CCSVI studies

CCSVI research advances with MS Societies’ $2.4 million

The one-year milepost from the Canadian and U.S. MS Societies’ seven multidisciplinary teams investigating CCSVI in MS reveals significant progress as these two-year projects move toward completion. The teams have recruited a broad spectrum of people with MS and others and are refining CCSVI imaging methods for accuracy and consistency. Their results will help guide the development of a phase I/II clinical trial in Canada to test the safety and effectiveness of treating vein blockages in people with MS.
