African-American study

African-American women may be at higher risk than thought

But a new study of 496 people newly diagnosed with MS found that the risk of developing the disease was 47% higher in African-American women compared to Caucasians. The study, by Dr. Annette Langer-Gould and colleagues at Kaiser Pemanente, warrants further research in larger numbers of people, and may change our understanding about who gets MS, and why.
