Louisiana, Hammond - Bike MS 2013
Team ATC Can Make a Difference--Make any contribution that you can!
Why I hope that you will sponsor me: Many of you have sponsored me or the team over the years. Because of the ability of people to give to the MS Society great progress is being made in treating this disease and outright fighting it. However, there is a long way to go. Please help us with any contribution that you can make. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from the MS Bike Tour to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we can fight this disease by simply riding a bike, because we have chosen to help thousands of people through a contribution to the MS Bike Tour, we are now getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS." Please consider giving any gift that you can. You can make a contribution online, or if you prefer you can send your donation made out to the MS Society to my attention at Lambeth House at 150 Broadway, New Orleans, 70118. Thank you for your consideration.
Why We Fight MS: Having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. Or that you may not always be able to walk, let alone ride a bike. The symptoms of MS are different, and devastating, for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.
Why I Ride: For 2 decades I have participated in the MS Tour for Cure. This is the 21st year that I have helped raise funds for this very imporant cause. When I started riding I was in my 30's. Talk about the aging process, but I still ride 150 miles over two years to raise funds and awareness of the dreaded disease of Multiple Sclerosis. We all have put back into socieity more than we take. I chose the MS Society because of having friends with multiple sclerosis and watching the progression of this debilitating disease. Because I can ride a bike, run and participate in a lifestyle that they can not, I chose years ago to make this fundraiser my primary philanthropy project. As long as I am physically able, I will continue to support this great organization who has a single goal—overcoming this dreaded disease!
