Greetings, friends!  It’s that time of year…as you may know, a group of IMTT employees and friends participate in the MS Tour 150 each October.  The MS Tour is a 150-mile (241 km for our Canadian friends) bike ride that raises awareness and financial support for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.   We start our trek in Hammond, LA and ride all the way to McComb, MS and back.

Multiple sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.

Team IMTT has a reason to ride that is particularly close to home. Within the IMTT family there are several people whose lives are impacted by MS. We will be wearing orange bandanas with their names in support of their struggle.  These bandanas serve as a reminder that we are training and fundraising for people near and dear to us – not just strangers.  We ride for them.

The team has been training hard for a few months now, with long group bike rides every Sunday at the crack of dawn.  We’ve also taken over spinning classes at our local gyms and have logged some serious mileage on our own.  So, here’s the real reason why I’m sending out this email…I am proposing a deal…Team IMTT will continue to log thousands of miles on uncomfortable bike seats in the hot Louisiana weather in exchange for your financial support.  Any amount you can pledge would be greatly appreciated!
