Hello friends and family,
This will be our 13th year riding in the MS Great Maine Getaway which will take place on August 12 and 13th in Biddeford, Maine. This is by far one of the most inspiring events I have ever been involved in and I am honored to be part of such an amazing team that has such determination to make a difference for others! I will be biking 100 miles in a weekend to help raise funds that will go towards researching a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. So that means over the past 13 years, personally I have ridden over 1300 miles and raised over $70,000. Team Jo Joe collectively has ridden well over 26,000 miles and raised over $120,000! We are very proud to make this contribution!!!
Team Jo-Joe's first ride was back in 2005. While on vacation in Florida, my good friend Anna and I decided that because MS had made such an impact on the lives of our very close family members, we wanted to help find a cure for this debilitating disease! And since 2007, we have been one of the top fundraising teams! We are proud to have made such an impact, yet each year we continue to strive to increase our fundraising goals. In 2013, we were awarded The Team Spirit Award, something we are very proud of! We really do have a lot of fun throughout the weekend, riding, volunteering and cheering on all the other riders as they cross the finish line! That is one of our favorite parts to the weekend!
TEAM JO JOE
We are college friends, neighborhood friends, newly formed friends, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, husbands, wives, cousins, uncles, aunts, simply put; a group that maintains the belief that we CAN make a difference. We consider ourselves a big family, all set out to accomplish one goal...to find a cure for MS! It is an amazing feeling to see all of us wearing our Team Jo-Joe jerseys while riding in packs! Our jerseys are very special to us because they are full representation of why we ride. Joey Bianco, we believe, has displayed his presence in the form of a butterfly. Mary-Jo, cousin of fellow rider, Anna, is represented in the form of an eagle. Each year as we ride, without fail, we see that eagle soaring above us in one of the huge farming fields along the ride. We know Mary- Jo, Joey and so many others who have suffered or who are suffering with MS are cheering us on as we help in the search for a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.
We would love your support once again this year. Every little bit helps !!!!!
We would also love to encourage you to join our team!!!!! Email Kim at email@example.com if interested!!!
If you feel more comfortable writing your checks out to The MS Society and mailing them to our address 21 Barnacle Lane , Brooklin, Maine 04616, that is fine, too.
Join our Team or please contribute to our fundraising efforts and help keep my promise to Joey to keep on fighting for a cure!
All my love,
Want to join our team?
We'd love to have you. Come ride with us and experience a ride that will change lives—including your own.
