We are Folks on Spokes… riding to wipe Multiple Sclerosis off the planet. OK, you’re right… Everyone seems to be riding or walking or running for something. Truth is, there is a lot of suffering out there. Many battles need your support. We’re asking for your help with one… the fight against multiple sclerosis.
Who we are
The Folks on Spokes team rides the tour of Martha’s Vineyard every year. What started as a few family members riding in 1993, has grown to include a wonderful, evolving, multi-generational collection of friends and family from near and far. Many of us have family members and friends who are living with the daily challenges MS brings. Some of us are experienced cyclists. Some of us are schlumps. But we all show up.
Why we Ride
We're a team for Bike MS because we want to help the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change and help people with MS live their best lives. Bike MS is a physical challenge for cyclists of every level, but it’s so much more than just a ride. The camaraderie, passion, and memories that come from sharing this experience with our team will stay with us for a lifetime. It’s a group effort that transcends personal accomplishment and touches the lives of the thousands of people affected by MS in our community. Bike MS can be a weekend-long and LIFE-long opportunity to make a difference in your own life, and in the world. So join us! It’s more than just a great ride. It’s Bike MS.
Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling, disease of the central nervous system that interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Millions of people are affected by MS and the challenges of living with its unpredictable symptoms, which range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
Join our team!
We would love to have you join us! It’s a great time, an awesome weekend… and the cause? It means so much. If you can’t join us, then please donate. Support one of the Folks on Spokes team members. Your gift will help support cutting-edge research, programs and services for everyone impacted by MS. And beyond that, it’s moving us closer to ending MS forever. Every dollar helps. Every connection matters.
Please connect. We believe in this cause. Can we count on your support?
