Why the National MS Society?

There are literally 1000's of charities we can help and in a tough year they need our help more than ever.

I unfortunately know how soul destroying MS can really be, my Aunt has had it for over 20 years now and she keeps smiling each and every day.

Last year I was asked to join the Goldman cycle team to raise money for the National MS Society. Given my aunt has MS I thought it really my duty to help but the real reason I joined is because it was on the anniversary of when my Dad passed away.

This year I have no such excuse, no reason that's urging me other than we know how tough the last 12 months have been for us so it must have been even worse for the charities.

A few months ago I had a nasty drinking accident where I cut a couple of nerves in my hand and, other than a few days recently cycling in France, have done no real preperation so when I was asked to cycle again my immediate response was I couldn't.

This is where I blame you in the best way possible. Last year the support you all gave me and the National MS Society was so amazing that this year I will be cycling with the number one slapped to my chest. No it's not a lower case "L" seriously it is the number one ... I have to cycle!

This year will probably be my last year cycling with the Goldman team so help me retire from their team in style, dig deep ... please.

Why a bike?

Some time ago I was asked to cycle with a very dear friend of mine who had cancer ... we rode, we conqueed and wow did we raise a lot of money for an amazing cause.

Not only will you be helping an amazing cause but you will also be forcing me to have my annual sober saturday night followed by knowing I will be dressed in spandex cycling 100 miles in return for your help.
