This is one of the great NYC events--a bike ride around Manhattan that raises money for MS research. Last year, about fifty of us rode as a team; despite an epic rainstorm, it was great fun. This year, you should come join us!
We’ll take off on Sunday morning, October 4th, at 7:30am, and this time it'll be beautiful. Dawn will come up as we bike around Manhattan, about 30 miles. The roads we ride--mostly the FDR and West Side Highway--are closed to traffic; this part is kid-friendly (12+) and much easier than you think. If you want a challenge, we'll bike through the Lincoln Tunnel(!!) and up the Hudson through the Palisades for another 30 miles. Then we'll head back to the apartment for celebratory drinking.
As wonderful as the ride is, the cause is even better. Over 400,000 Americans live with the challenges of multiple sclerosis (John's mom died of MS a few years ago). The National MS Society, which runs this event, supports over $30mm of research each year to help.
Last year, we raised an astounding $30,000. If you can't join us, your donation is appreciated and will be well used.
