Why We Fight MS
Having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. Or that you may not always be able to walk, let alone ride a bike. The symptoms of MS are different, and devastating, for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.
Why I Ride
This is my 4th year participating in the MS 150 City to Shore. I started out riding for the exercise and because it was a good cause. Each year I rode it became more personal and I realize how important this cause is and how effective the MS Society is in it's effort to find a cure. This year I ride with an especially personal conviction. I have a very dear friend who was diagnosed with this disease this year as well as two other acquaintances/coworkers/friends. All three are young women, two are young mothers. This disease has affected each of them differently physically and mentally, but one thing they have in common....this is a life changing disease that will be with them for the rest of their lives and will continue to affect them in different ways. PLEASE help me make a personal record contribution through your generous donation to help find a cure!
Why You Should Sponsor Me
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from the MS Bike Tour to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we can fight this disease by simply riding a bike, because we have chosen to help thousands of people through a contribution to the MS Bike Tour, we are now getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."
