Why We Fight MS
Most of you have seen the page I've done for this in the past. You know that Linda and I rode in '07 in memory of her principal's father (Andy Godfrey's father, Myron). And you know that in '08 we were joined by Andy and three other fellows he recruited from their school, Hanns Herr Elementary. Most of us know someone whose life has been touched with this disease, and lots of us don't know that we're yet to be diagnosed or face this diagnoses with a loved one.
Why I Ride
I LOVE TO RIDE. I love feeling what it is like to use my own physical power to move from Philly to the beach and back. I love how much healthier I feel when I'm in good shape. And why Linda and I ride THIS event is that the route is sprinkled all along the way with people using canes, walkers and wheelchairs who are holding signs thanking us for helping raise funds for research. People with MS flag us safely through intersections, hand us our lunches, help us fill water bottles, give us "high fives" along the route and volunteer in a hundred ways to make the ride one of the best supported events in the nation. I ride for the inspiration and with hope for a cure.
Why You Should Sponsor Me
Because! Just because. Because you know or love someone who suffers from MS. Because whether you know it or not, you may be diagnosed later, or someone you love may be. Because it is the right thing to do, even if it is just a little bit... Many little donations will put me in the saddle for 175 miles. You give a little, I'll sweat a lot! Look for the pictures on my blog after the race - we'll be sporting the winning design for our jersey celebrating the "Pioneer Pedalers" and it was designed by one of the students. Way to go, Samantha!
Blessings!!!
