Bike MS: City to Shore Ride 2017

Team Taylor

This is Team Taylor's 12th year riding! Twelve years since our son Sean was diagnosed with MS at 10 years of age. Twelve years of multiple MRI's, spinal taps, IV's and endless medical appointments. Twelve years since Sean decided to make a difference with the hand he was dealt at such a young age. Twelve years of riding countless miles, Twelve years of fundraising, and Twelve years of advocating.

We have been so fortunate with how great Sean is doing, he has not symptoms or a flare in a very long time. Sean graduated from college this past May with a degree in accounting from The College of New Jersey. Physically, Sean is in great shape, working out daily and running, he is currently training for the Philadelphia Mararthon. Sean has been on a weekly injection, Avonex since he was diagnosed, only missing one dose in twelve years! As a family we are very dedicated to advocating for those with MS. We do believe that because of the funds raised, the grants given, specifically to our neurologists at CHOP, and the state of the art work and research being done, is the very reason why Sean has done so well.

About MS

Multiple sclerosis is an unpredictable, often disabling, disease of the central nervous system that interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body. Millions of people are affected by MS and the challenges of living with its unpredictable symptoms, which range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
