Why I’m Moving Forward

My young friend Amber contracted MS just last year at age 18 and so I feel compelled by her story to ride and encourage you to donate.

Another American is diagnosed with MS every hour of every day. But we are joining the movement toward a world free of MS - including you, me and Amber.

Why I Ride

I've registered for the Bike MS: Valero 2009 Alamo Ride to the River to fulfill a personal challenge since my first day of the Houston to Austin MS-150 was rained out. More mportantly, to help the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change and help people with MS and their families lead powerful lives. I believe in the work they do and want to be part of it.

Can I count on your help?

Let’s Move Forward Together

The Society’s chapters organize 100 Bike MS events nationwide. They’re great fun and the funds they raise go toward research aimed at treating and eventually curing MS. They also provide education, information, direct financial aid and scholarships to individuals and families living with MS.

I’m helping the National MS Society move forward toward a world without MS.

Please join me!

Ramping up the training
Rode 42 miles on Saturday plus a short 12 miler a couple of days earlier. Picked up 3 donations so I'm getting there! Now I'm figuring out my logistics for the ride. Burton Construction - my team - has been great!

Training continues
Hello all! I continue to train for the Valero ride by running, swimming and, of course, cycling. In the past 2 months I've cycled about 200 miles highlighted by a ride from Austin to Gruene (48 miles) with my daughter Rachel.
Now I need to get on with the fund raising!!

Keep on riding!
After a short lull following the MS-150 from Houston to Austin, I am getting back on my bike. I've ridden 98 miles so far in May. Beautiful riding weather in the mornings!
