2017 BP MS 150

Team No Mas

About Team No MaS

In case you did not catch it, our team name is little bit of a riddle designed to imply “no more MS”.  We picked that name because that is what our team is about — putting an end to multiple sclerosis.  Our team has two simple goals.  One, raise a meaningful amount of money to support the fight against multiple sclerosis.  Two, have fun doing it.  I’m happy to say that we have consistently been able to achieve those goals.  Last year, we raised over $88,000 in support of folks living with MS.  Our team members have no formal association other than friendship and a desire to help others.

About MS

Multiple sclerosis interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body and stops people from moving. Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with more than twice as many women as men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 400,000 people in the U.S., and 2.5 million worldwide.

About the MS150

The Society's chapters organize 100 Bike MS events nationwide. The BP MS 150 ride is the largest non-profit event of its kind in North America with 13,000 cyclists, 3,000 volunteers and countless supporters and spectators. They're great fun and the funds they raise go toward research aimed at treating and eventually curing MS. They also provide education, information, direct financial aid and scholarships to individuals and families living with MS.
