2018 BP MS 150

Team Wood

Team Wood participates in the BP MS 150 because we want to experience a great ride and help the National MS Society fund research, advocate for change and help people with MS live their best lives. We believe in this cause. Can we count on your support?

About MS
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that interrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50 with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.3 million people worldwide.

About the Ride
Bike MS is a physical challenge for cyclists of every level, but it’s so much more than just a ride. The camaraderie, passion, and memories that come from sharing this experience with our team will stay with us for a lifetime. Bike MS is a weekend-long and LIFE-long opportunity to make a difference in your own life, and in the world. It’s a group effort that transcends personal accomplishment and touches the lives of the thousands of people affected by MS in our community.

The BP MS 150 is a two-day fundraising bike ride organized by the National MS Society. The BP MS 150 is the largest non-profit event of its kind in North America with 13,000 cyclists, 3,500 volunteers and countless supporters and spectators. The fundraising goal for the 2017 BP MS 150 is $16 million dollars to bring hope to those affected with MS.  This ride is the premier charitable event for Wood as a company and has grown with the  company's early days in Houston under Mustang to the powerhouse it is now with the combined Wood Group and Amec Foster Wheeler team.

Join us - it’s more than a ride!

Support Team Wood!
Wood was honored for surpassing the $1 million milestone for the National MS Society and accepted the Circle of Distinction Award at the 2015 National MS Conference. Nearly 1,000 employees have cycled their way to this tremendous total by participating in the BP MS 150 ride for close to 20 years. With every year, we continue to contribute because we believe in a world free of MS and we plan on raising $85,000 in 2018. Our team received the Gold Safety Award and raised nearly $70,000 in 2017. We look forward to fueling the mission and going above and beyond in the year ahead. Are you up for the challenge?

Donations help support cutting-edge research and programs and services for everyone impacted by MS. In Texas, the Society services more than 68,000 individuals affected by MS, including more than 22,000 diagnosed with the disease. Ending MS means no one will receive an MS diagnosis again.

Every dollar helps. Every connection matters. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
