Moving toward a cure

As many of you know, Janie was diagnosed with MS more than twent-five years ago. Since that time she has benefited greatly through the advances in treatments and the continuing research that is going on in the fight to find a cure for this debilitating disease. She is one of the lucky ones . . . but many thousands of people are not so lucky.

Having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. Or that you may not always be able to walk around the house, let alone for miles on end. The symptoms of MS are different, and devastating, for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

Why We Walk So Far

This is the 6th year Janie and I have committed to the 50 mile challenge walk. Through the generosity you and others like you have shown in the past, we have been able to raise over $40,000 in the last 5 years to help support the efforts to find a cure for MS. But we need to keep going. We do this walk because we want  to do everything possible to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with this disease. Today, there is no cure for multiple sclerosis, and with diagnosis occurring most frequently between the ages of 20 and 50, tens of thousands of people face a lifetime battling this unpredictable and dibilitating condition. The frightening news is that children as early as the age of 2 are now being diagnosed. This must stop! We do not want our children or grandchildren or yours to hear the words, "you have MS". Please join us in our Challenge Walk to stop MS in its tracks! Help by donating, not just to us but to a future free of MS. Thank You!

Why You Should Sponsor Us

This event is a challenge - and an opportunity - for everyone involved, participants and donors alike. The last three years Janie was able to walk 35 miles and she will be shooting for more this year. With commitment to this cause, we can all be part of a historic undertaking. The funds raised from Challenge Walk MS will not only support research for a cure, but also provide programs which address the needs of hundreds of thousands of people living with MS right now. Because we choose to walk for those who sometimes can't. Because we choose to donate to the Challenge Walk MS, we are getting ever closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."
