Moving toward a cure

Having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. Or that you may not always be able to walk around the house, let alone for miles on end. The symptoms of MS are different, and devastating, for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

Why I Walk So Far

I've registered for the Wisconsin Challenge Walk MS because I want to do something for the people who have been diagnosed - and because I want to do everything to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with this disease. Today, there is no cure for multiple sclerosis, and with diagnosis occurring most frequently between the ages of 20 and 50, many individuals face a lifetime filled with unpredictability.  My mother was diagnosed at a later age.  It has affected our family tremendously!  I want to make sure that other families don't have to go through this!  It is a long and hard battle.

Why You Should Sponsor Me:

When I Found Out My mom had MS I was so sad.  I wanted to know as much as I could about this disease and then I wanted to selfishly find out if it is heretitary.  Then I stared to see MS around in the world and then I saw a link for a MS Walk.  That is where it all changed.....I met an awesome man that has MS and was making a difference.  I was asked to join forces and help out with my county walk....WOW so fun to be involved.  Then I was asked to go to Washington D.C. to the policy meetings for 2011....Wow again.  Washington was so moving....sad and super exciting all in one.

Now I am on my personal journey to make a difference for the ones with MS.  The ones who live with ones with MS.  And to stop anyone else from getting MS!  Cause MS is BS!

Because I want to make a difference.  I want to raise Huge Awareness for this horrible disease and a CURE!

This event is a challenge - and an opportunity - for everyone involved, participants and donors alike. With commitment to this cause, we can all be part of a historic undertaking. The funds raised from the Challenge Walk MS will not only support research for a cure, but also provide programs which address the needs of hundreds of thousands of people living with MS right now. Because we choose to walk for those who sometimes can't. Because we choose to donate to the Challenge Walk MS, we are getting ever closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."
