Here We Go....
I am extremely excited to be participating in what I hope will be my first of many Challenge Walks! In my 13+ years volunteering in the fight against MS, I am glad to have a different opportunity -- and the ability -- to do something big in the fight against MS. I hope you'll join me, with your dollars if not your feet, in this fight.
Moving toward a cure
Having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. Or that you may not always be able to walk around the house, let alone for miles on end. The symptoms of MS are different, and devastating, for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.
Why I Walk So Far
I've registered for Challenge Walk MS because I want to do something for my dear friend, Stacy, and all the people who have been diagnosed - and because I want to do everything to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with this disease. Today, there is no cure for multiple sclerosis, and with diagnosis occurring most frequently between the ages of 20 and 50, many individuals face a lifetime filled with unpredictability.
Why You Should Sponsor Me
I have walked to fight MS 13 times before. This September, I will walk further than in all 13 of those walks combined. This event is a real challenge - and an opportunity - for everyone involved, participants and donors alike. With commitment to this cause, we can all be part of a historic undertaking. The funds raised from Challenge Walk MS will not only support research for a cure, but also provide programs which address the needs of hundreds of thousands of people living with MS right now. Because we choose to walk for those who sometimes can't. Because we choose to donate to Challenge Walk MS, we are getting ever closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."
