Do It Yourself Fundraising is an opportunity for people with a deep commitment to the MS cause to raise awareness and critical funds for the MS Movement in new and creative ways.

This site includes helpful resources to help you kick off a Do It Yourself activity and learn from others who are hosting their own.

Activities can include golf tournaments, dinner parties, bake sales, endurance events, simply asking your friends, and more!

ATO Walk Hard: Many Steps for MS

It all started with a phone call. The topic? What could the members of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at Grand Valley State University do to better the world around them? The answer, ATO Walks Hard: Many Steps for MS.

15 men will be walking 160 miles from Allendale, Michigan (GVSU Campus) to Traverse City, Michigan. We will be leaving February 28th and arrive on March 6th. All members will be giving up their spring breaks for this journey.  The majority of the journey will be traveled on the White Pine Trail and we will be sleeping in churches along the way.

We have developed a training regiment for walkers, created press releases, a business plan, brochure, equipment list, t-shirts, banners, promotion strategies, flyer's using all the assets in our chapters disposal. We have put our hearts and our souls into this event.

About Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis affects people in the prime of their lives, between the ages of 20 and 50. Every hour someone is newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. More than 2.5 million people worldwide live with this unpredictable disease. The symptoms of MS are different for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

Currently there is no cure for MS. The money that is raised will be used to find the cause, treatment, and ultimately the cure of multiple sclerosis. The money is also used to provide education, information, direct financial support, and scholarships to individuals and families living with MS.

We humbly ask that you share this page amongst your friends and family, and donate if you can. Every little bit helps. Many of our brothers have lost family or friends to MS and we would love to put an end to this terrible disease.
