Pacific Crest Defeat MS
This year I have once again joined forces with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and a team of extraordinary folks participating in the Pacific Crest Weekend Sports Festival.
Of course, I say festival and many think this is a weekend of hanging out, lounging around, and generally enjoying ourselves. Some of this is accurate but it leaves out the more significant (and painful) centerpiece of the weekend...two days of challenging racing to help fight and defeat MS.
As in previous years I'm partnering with Dave Kelleher, our team leader and the reason many of us participate. Dave has MS but you'd never know it. After multiple hip replacements, he still carries our team, taking both the swim and bike legs of the Half-Ironman relay on Saturday and the Olympic relay on Sunday. I'll take the runs again this year...grateful I have only one sport to focus on and a relatively small share of the mileage our team will cover over these two days.
I do this event each year for a lot of reasons. But the most obvious is because I want to do something for the people who have been diagnosed - and because I want to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with MS.
You can help too. Please take a minute to make a contribution to this great cause by clicking on the link provided. It's fast, easy, and every dollar helps.
Thanks,
Terry
