Top 5 Reasons to Join the Movement
1: Having multiple sclerosis means that you may not be able to walk when you wake up. Or that you may suddenly have impaired vision. The symptoms of MS are different, and devastating, for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.
#2: Julie's brother/Ben's future brother-in-law, David, has been living with MS since 1995.
#3: David has two amazing sons and a fabulous wife.
#4: David savors every opportunity to be outside - hiking, biking, rafting, and playing ball with his family.
#5: Supporting the cause through Team DefeatMS funds research efforts to find a cure - ultimately ensuring that David and many others have these opportunities for years to come.
Why Support Team Defeat MS
Team DefeatMS will be participating in its 3rd year at Pacific Crest this summer. David Kelleher, the team lead, has been living with MS since he was diagnosed in 1995 at the age of 23. The idea to call on friends and family across the country to raise awareness around Multiple Sclerosis (MS) came about in early 2005. After ten years of living with MS, he decided to take the DefeatMS movement to the next level.
The Sunriver team this June will be represented by 35+ team members, from 8 states, with ages ranging from 9 (David's son) to 65 (David's father), participating in everything from the 10K walk to the half-IM Tri.
In addition to raising awareness around MS, another goal is to raise money for MS Research. Hence, this fundraising site.
Many thanks for helping fight the good fight by raising awareness and funding research to one day find a cure for MS.
