You may ask, "Why am I racing?" Let me tell you...
I am racing and raising money to help spread awareness about MS. There are many people out there, like me, who may not recognize signs and symptoms when presented with them and awareness can only help to better inform those who may be affected. I want to spread the word that MS is not always a dibilitating disease and that with donations and funded research a cure for MS can be found! Together we CAN cross out MS!
People living with MS overcome challenges everyday: to walk; to have energy to go to the store; to have the will power not to give up. That's why it is so important to me to support the mission of the National MS Society by raising funds for programs and services that give hope to families who are affected by MS, and for cutting-edge research into an eventual core that will end MS forever... YES! I said FOREVER! :)
YOU CAN JOIN THE MOVEMENT, TOO!
Make a Donation - Every penny matters!
You can help get us (and ME) closer to a world free of MS by making a donation to the National MS Society on behalf of my Race to Stop MS efforts. It's easy to make an online donation right now--just click the "Donate" button on this page. Or if you prefer, you can send in your donation via U.S. mail. (Please contact me for address details).
It's people like you--my amazing support system I call my family, my friends, and associates--who can empower my fundraising efforts and the efforts of everyone racing in Chicago to end MS forever. I want you to know that I truly appreciate your support, because every bit counts. Together, we can move forward toward a world free of MS!
P.S. I plan to update this page frequently (and may blog about my individual progress) so that you can follow my progress, so please check back often! :)
My Race Stop MS Blog
February 20, 2013
I am surprised at the response I have already had in regards to my fundraising page and donations. The support and encouragement from my friends and family is more than I could have ever expected.
I am SO excited to get my package for the marathon in the mail and begin following a training plan. Ready to begin stacking up the miles each week. This new journey will allow me to be in great physical shape - and that along with my healthy (mostly) eating habits will help me battle this disease with all I have!
Thank you, again. Keep S'Myelin :)
