Why We're Running

On Sunday, October 13, 2013 Katie and Jess will be running in the 2013 Chicago Marathon with the Race to Stop MS team.

We're obviously excited for the challenge of the race, which will be Katie's first marathon and Jess's return to marathoning after an injury forced her to withdraw from the Chicago Marathon in 2012. But we're just as excited to show our support by fundraising for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the 20,000 Illinois families touched by multiple sclerosis, including our own.

The money raised at Race to Stop MS supports programs, services and vital research into the cause(s) of and cure for MS.  Your support will help us reach our goal of raising $1,500, which in turn will make a difference in the lives of those living with MS.

MS stops people from moving. We are grateful for our ability to run, and want to put it to good use.

You Can Join the Movement, Too!

You can donate to our fundraising campaign today by clicking on "Make a Donation," just below the fundraising goal thermometer.

If you prefer to write a check, please contact me and I will provide my address, or you can mail it to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 525 West Monroe St., Suite 900, Chicago, IL 60661. Please make a note in the memo portion of the check that your donation should be credited to our fundraising efforts.

Please also feel free to come out race day and support us on the sidelines! We're even considering a sliding scale heckling allowance tied to donations. It's a great day of fun, endurance and inspiration!

You can follow our training adventure on Jess's blog, Nuttier Than Squirrel Poop.
