Ever since I first watched the Chicago Marathon in high school, I knew I would run it one day and that I’d do so for my Mom… I plan to run my first marathon, The Chicago Marathon, on October 13th.  As grueling as many of my runs may be, it's nothing compared to the physical and emotional challenges men and women with Multiple Sclerosis face each day. For the last 26 years, I’ve watched my fearless mother battle this disease (she's had it for 39 years now) and I’ve decided to run “26 in 26” to show her how much her strength, courage and never-give-up attitude have truly inspired me every single day. My mom is the strongest person I know and thinking of her will help me get through the toughest parts of this race. I consider myself lucky to be able to run 26.2 miles on October 13th and I will do so in honor of those who don't have the same privilege. I am fundraising for “Race to Stop MS” which helps the Greater Illinois Chapter of the MS Society fund programs, services and cutting-edge research benefitting the 20,000 people living with MS in Illinois. Any small donation brings me one step closer to my goal of raising $5,000 toward finding a cure for this debilitating disease. If you'd like to donate, please click on the "Donate to Sarah!" link on the left side of the page above the thermometer. On behalf of myself and my Mom… Thank you so much.
