Why I Participate:

Every hour of every day, someone is diagnosed with MS. One day, it was my mom. That's why I registered for the Walk MS event. Walk MS is a day that connects friends, families, and coworkers.   Each step we take brings us closer to a world free of MS.

My mom is the greatest woman I know and I am so lucky to have her. She has taught me how to be kind, how to love and appreciate, and how to bake. She is incredibly strong yet warm, and she deserves nothing but the best. Her diagnosis of MS was not something any of us ever expected and MS was never something we had thought about. Luckily she is OK and continues to live her life with minor interruptions. My dad likens MS to an earthquake - you have your earthquake kit, your house is built with earthquake precautions, and you know exactly what to do if an earthquake hits, but you don't sit around and wait for the big one. We don't know what the future of MS holds, but we aren't going to wait around for it.

I can't take away my mom's fear or pain and I can't become a scientist overnight to do research for a cure, but one thing I can do is raise money to fund research and help those like my mom and the thousands of others living with MS.

About MS

I am asking you to support me in Walk MS because this is a cause that is meaningful to me and my family.  Millions of people are affected by MS and the challenges of living with its unpredictable symptoms. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS. No one knows what lies ahead for my mom and my family, but so far we have been lucky. Supporting MS research will allow my mom and others like her to continue getting the treatment they need and hopefully find a cure for this unpredictable disease.

Please support me!

Your gift helps provide local programs and fund cutting-edge research. Your donation puts us closer to realizing our promise to STOP MS in its tracks, RESTORE lost function and END MS forever. Ending MS means no one will receive an MS diagnosis again. Every step matters.  Every dollar counts.  Every person makes a difference.

Thank you,

Sarah
