Why We Fight MS

Having multiple sclerosis means that you may not be able to walk when you wake up. Or that you may suddenly have impaired vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. I'm trying really hard to make sure that these symptoms don't happen to me, or for that matter, anyone else. The research that the MS Society has done is why I'm receiving the most cutting edge therepy that is available. I would very much appreciate any help you can give me, either by walking with me and raising money, or at the very least, pledging money so the research and help can continue.

Why I Walk

This is my 11th year in this walk.  And the amazing thing is I'm still walking.  When I was diagnosed almost 11 years ago, my chances of still being able to walk sounded grim.  The statistics made it sound like I would be wheelchair bound by now.  But I didn't want to be a statistic and the amount of research being done is astounding. The treatments I've received have been made possible by the MS Society. Not only am I still walking, I'm thriving and still working.  I want this for every person with MS. And until that happens, I will still be walking and fundraising.

Why You Should Sponsor Me

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from the MS Walk to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we choose to walk for those who sometimes can't, because we choose to donate to the MS Walk, we are getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."
