Why We Fight MS

Ever since our son Eric was diagnosed with MS we have made the commitment that we would not rest until a cure had been found for this devastating disease. In the past 10 years our teams Through Walk MS and Bike MS have raised over $1,000,000 thanks to YOUR generous contributions and bold fundraising efforts. The lion's share of the credit goes to our daughter, Traci, who planted the first seed, and provided the inspiration and leadership over the past 10 years.

Why I Walk

Today there are over 400 research efforts in place throughout the country, many of which are here in Southern California. Many of you may have heard about Promise 2010, a program we have supported the past two years. One of its goals had been to develope techniques to repair the damage to the myelin sheath caused by MS thus reversing the symptoms of the disease. I am happy tell you that 4 collaborative teams funded through this program have made huge strides toward this goal.  We now know that repair in MS is possible!

Discoveries are happening at record speed so that as we learn more about MS new treatment therapies and technologies are  becoming available. This past year the FDA approved the second oral drug to treat relapsing forms of MS.

Why You Should Sponsor Me

Thank you to everyone who joined our team or made a contribution in 2012. We hope that the funds we have raised have had an impact on these initiatives as well as the many programs that provide services to the thousands of Southern Californians suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. There is still much more to be done and we need your help even more this year.
