Why We Fight MS

My husband Michael has been living with MS since early 2004. Michael and I are partners in every aspect of our lives and we also share the disease of MS in fact our whole family does.

We have grown stronger as a family and have learned many lessons along the way, we have seen Michael struggle through and manage his ups and downs of MS. From eyesight issues to mobility issues, Michael has had many exacerbations through the years we have tried may treatments and keep our lives in a positive forward motion.

The love of friends and family have helped us through. We thank people like you whom without your hope, donations and prayers a cure can not be possible.

Do you know that Team JiggyWiggits raised over $200,000.00 year to date?

There are so many ways you can make a difference and it all begins right here, Firstly you can join The JiggyWiggits team and walk with us on April 6, 2014 you can also help by making a pledge for my team or become a sponsor or financial donor just join us.

Why I Walk

Michael has been living with MS for the past several years and that the disease has significantly impaired his physical abilities. But did you know that one new case of MS is diagnosed every hour of every day? MS typically strikes adults in the prime of life between the ages of 20 and 50. It is a chronic, progressive, degenerative disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spinal cord. The symptoms of the disease come and go unpredictably, leaving people to wonder about their future. "Will I be paralyzed, blind or have trouble walking? Will I be able to continue working and provide for my family?" For many these are haunting questions. With the money we raise, we can cure this disease and erase these questions for the hundreds of thousands affected.

We are proud of the fact that 80¢ of every $1 raised by the MS Walk supports cutting-edge research, education, advocacy and local programs that enhance the lives of people with MS and their families.

Bring your family and join The JiggyWiggits and WALK with us for this great cause so we can get closer to finding a cure for Michael and everyone affected by this disease.

Why You Should Sponsor Me

With your help and with a cure I can look forward to the day that my husband can dance with me again, go for a hike with Adam and walk Jenica down the aisle on her wedding day.

The number of people living with multiple sclerosis increases every hour of every day. This astonishing rate is not going to slow down, let alone stop, until we've found a cure. Research has made some incredible advances recently, but the world can still only offer disease management drugs and therapies to the 400,000 plus people living with MS in America.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from the MS Walk to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we choose to walk for those who sometimes can't, because we choose to donate to the MS Walk, we are getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."
