Why I Joined the Movement

Movement is so much of who we are; it can be easy to take for granted. Multiple sclerosis interrupts the flow of information between brain and body and stops people from moving. Millions of people and thousands of them in our communities are affected by MS and the challenges of living with its unpredictable symptoms. I participate in Walk MS because I want to share in the hope for the future and make a powerful statement: to keep moving toward a cure.

Why I Walk

I started working as a nurse at an MS Center seven years ago. Today, I work as an MS-certified nurse at the Swedish MS Center in Seattle and I have really enjoyed providing care for those affected by MS, from helping manage their symptoms over the phone to providing patient teaching in the clinic. I have come to care deeply for these individuals diagnosed by MS as well as their families and would love it if you would join me in helping raise funds for the Walk MS movement! Unfortunately, I will be a 'virtual walker' this year (I will be out-of-town the day of the event) but I have been helping our team organize fundraising events and raising awareness of the walk so we can create a world free of MS!

Why You Should Support Me

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society believes that people with MS deserve options, support and hope to live better with their disease...that every person in our community can play a role in improving the lives of those affected by MS...and that a world free of MS is within our grasp.
