BP MS 150 Riders

Welcome, First-Time BP MS 150 Participants! We are so excited you have decided to embark on the journey from Houston to Austin to ride, fundraise, and support a world free of MS.

Whether you're a veteran cyclist or you're new to the sport of cycling, we want to ensure your first BP MS 150 experience is the best.

Important Tips

  • Know the reason you are participating in the BP MS 150. Learn about MS ›
  • Talk to your friends, family, and co-workers about your plans to ride, and why this fundraising event is so important.
  • Set a fundraising goal.
  • Set up your fundraising personal page in your Participant Center.
  • Don't let the $400 fundraising minimum intimidate you! It's not a difficult goal to reach, and we're here to help you along the way. It's important you start right away by visiting our Tips & Tools page for advice and suggestions to help you reach your goal. Raise $1,500 or more and become a Superstar Fundraiser, or even part of our Club 300!
  • Bookmark bpms150.net as your go-to-source for ride information—especially the Ride FAQ and Event Updates pages.

  • Visit one of the Official BP MS 150 Bike Stores to pick up gear that you'll need for the ride: Helmet, gloves, shoes, water bottle or hydration system, spare tubes, and cycling shorts. Also take the opportunity to learn Bicycle Maintenance Care. Check with your local Official BP MS 150 Bike Store for additional details.

BP MS 150 Start

Prepare for the Ride

Choose Your Start Location

  • Choose from one of three convenient start locations and arrive early:

    • 100-mile route in Houston at Tully Stadium starts at 6:45am
    • 85-mile route in Katy at Rhodes Stadium starts at 6:45am
    • 76-mile route in Waller at Waller Stadium features a rolling start from 8:00am to 10:00am

Pack Your Bag

  • Find out what to pack and bring your bags to an Official National MS Society luggage truck at one of the start locations for transport to La Grange and Austin.
  • Be sure, if utilizing the Official National MS Society luggage trucks, not to load your luggage on a team-specific truck; National MS Society trucks will have identifying signage.

Route Support

  • Route Support is available (Ride Marshals, Bike Medics, Support & Gear (SAG) vehicles, medical support, and more).
  • Replenish and hydrate at the official Breakpoints located every 8 to 15 miles along the route. Light snacks will be provided along with fruit, water, and sports drinks. If you have specific dietary requirements, we suggest you bring supplemental food items with you to ensure you are properly fueled for the entire weekend.
  • Complimentary lunch is provided on Saturday and Sunday. Dinner is provided at the Overnight in La Grange and the Finish Line in Austin. Be sure to wear the wristband (found in your Rider Packet) for meals.

Overnight

  • Overnight location at Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange, TX:

    • Tent Village designated areas (Team Tent reservations required)
    • Individual camping areas (no reservations required). Walk-in camping is available on first come basis.
BP MS 150 Finish

Transportation

  • For riders living in the Austin area, we offer transportation for you and your bike to Houston on Friday. The transportation fee is $35.
  • For riders living in the Houston area, we offer transportation for you and your bike back to Houston on Sunday. The transportation fee is $35.

Austin Finish Line

Welcome to Austin, Texas! Revel in your accomplishments at the festive Finish Line celebration. After crossing the Finish Line to the cheers of hundreds of spectators, all cyclists are invited for food and fun. Invite your family and friends to join in on the fun!

Join us for New Rider Orientation!

The New Rider Orientation is recommended for all riders that are participating in the BP MS 150 for the first time. The orientation will cover topics including training and safety information, nutrition and hydration, what to expect event weekend, and much more.

New Rider Orientation Schedule

New Rider Orientation (NRO) is recommended for all first time riders participating in the BP MS 150. Attend one of these sessions to learn more about training for the event, nutrition and hydration and what to expect during event weekend. You can also print and share the NRO Schedule with our downloadable flyer.
