MS hits home:
On January 5th 2014, the Roberts family experienced a huge loss. The matriarc of the family, Teresa Roberts, lost her long hard fight with complications due to Multiple Sclerosis.
She was an incredible fighter and tried to not let much slow her down. The amount of passion she had for her grandchildren was overwhelming and she was the epitome of "grandma".
Seeing her struggle through the 12 odd years that I knew her, was hard to watch at times. (Although she had been fighting MS since she was in her late 20s.) I met her when I was 17 and she was vibrant, passionate, creative, driven and so on. Still hard to believe that she's no longer with us.
I also found out the same week of my mother in laws' passing, that my older sister had been diagnosed with MS. It couldn't have come at a more sensitive time and I feel it was for a reason. I mean, what are the odds of that timing.
We had participated in 2013 MS Walk in Fort Worth with my husbands company and decided this should be something we do EVERY year. Now, with Teresa's passing, we participated in the 2014 MS Walk and are more driven than ever to spread awareness.
HeRo's Ladies Music Fest is a platform I can use to try and help out this cause, spread awareness, advocacy, and raise funds to find THE cure. Join us on October 4th at Firefly Stage in Grandview, Texas for a day filled with talented ladies doing their thing and raffles, drawings and donations going to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. If you can not make it, you can also donate through this site.
We greatly appreicate your donations to help other families like ours so that they don't have to see their loved struggle with MS. HeRo's Ladies Music Fest hopes to raise atleast $2,000 this year for MS, lets make this happen together!
~Keep on keeping on~
Multiple Sclerosis affects people in the prime of their lives, between the ages of 20 and 50. Every hour someone is newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. More than 2.5 million people worldwide live with this unpredictable disease. The symptoms of MS are different for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.
I will MAKE MY MARK and do my part to make a difference in the lives of those living with MS. By supporting me you too will MAKE YOUR MARK in this pursuit.
Let's Move Forward Together
Currently there is no cure for MS. The money that is raised will be used to find the cause, treatment, and ultimately the cure of multiple sclerosis. The money is also used to provide education, information, direct financial support, and scholarships to individuals and families living with MS.
Please join me in the movement to do something about multiple sclerosis now!
