Why We Fight MS

Having multiple sclerosis means that you may suddenly have blurry vision. Or that your memory will fail you for no apparent reason. Or that you may not always be able to walk, let alone ride a bike. The symptoms of MS are different, and devastating, for everyone - the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.

Why I Ride

I've registered for the MS Bike Tour because I want to do something for the people who have been diagnosed - and because I want to do everything to prevent more people from learning what it means to live with this disease. Today, there is no cure for multiple sclerosis, and with diagnosis occurring most frequently between the ages of 20 and 50, many individuals face a lifetime filled with unpredictability.

Why You Should Sponsor Me

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society will use funds collected from the MS Bike Tour to not only support research for a cure tomorrow, but also to provide programs which address the needs of people living with MS today. Because we can fight this disease by simply riding a bike, because we have chosen to help thousands of people through a contribution to the MS Bike Tour, we are now getting closer to the hour when no one will have to hear the words, "You have MS."

Topics

7 Days... $1,000
In just 7 days I've managed to secure $1,000 for the National MS Society. Those Saturn Awards tickets must be HAWT!
But I know I didn't do this alone. Look at the scrolling list... all those people... yeah... they're the ones that made this happen. Every one of them are quite amazing to me. It's humbling to know that they answered my call for help so quickly.
Thank you. And you reading this? Thank them. Collectively they've theoretically (sp?) given a person with MS medical equipment and home modifications to make it easier to live with this disease.

The Saturn Awards and The Academy of Science Fiction Fantasy & Horror Films
These folks are amazing. They just gave me two tickets to raffle off to help bring in more donations to the National MS Society.
The Saturn Awards is a "by invitation only" event. it's the Oscars of the Science Fiction Fantasy & Horror genre, so there's tons of celebrities there. Last year there were even props and show cars from some famous movies. The night includes a hosted bar, dinner and the presentation along with one heck of a swag bag at the end of the night. This organization does this up REALLY well!
THANK YOU to them for being such generous people!

It's time to start the process again.
Tommorow starts National MS Awareness week... and with that... it's also the beginning of fundraising for the Bike MS Bay to Bay Bike Tour. I must be crazy to again be raising $2,000... but the work involved is completely worth it to me. Every penny counts in helping those with MS have a better life.
